Will the Colour Look the Same as in the Photos?
When you shop for a suit online, colour is often the first thing you fall in love with, and the first thing you worry about. Will it look the same when it arrives? Here is how we photograph our suits and what you can expect.
We photograph every suit in natural sunlight
Our product photos are taken in natural sunlight, not under heavy studio lighting. Sunlight shows fabric the way you will see it in real life, so the colours in our photos are as close to the actual suit as we can make them.
Why the colour can still look slightly different
Every screen is different. Phones and laptops display colours differently depending on the brand, brightness setting, night mode and colour filters. The same photo can look warmer on one phone and cooler on another.
Light changes how fabric looks. A suit looks different in bright daylight, warm indoor lighting and evening light. Fabrics with a sheen, such as chanderi, chinnon and silk, change the most as the light changes.
Handcrafted pieces have natural variation. Our suits are hand-embroidered and handcrafted. Small differences in thread shade, embroidery or dyeing are a natural part of handwork and make each piece unique. They are not defects.
How to choose with confidence
- Look at all the photos. Close-up shots show the true texture and thread colours best.
- Turn off night mode and blue-light filters on your phone while viewing, as they make colours look warmer.
- Read the product name and description. The colour name, such as mustard, rust or powder blue, gives you a clear reference.
- Ask us on WhatsApp. If you are unsure about a shade, message us and we will be happy to help.
Frequently asked questions
Are your product photos edited?
Our photos are taken in natural sunlight so that the colour stays as true to the actual suit as possible.
Why does the suit look different on my phone?
Screen brightness, night mode and display settings all change how colours appear. Viewing the photos with filters turned off gives the most accurate picture.
Is a small colour difference a defect?
No. Minor colour variation caused by lighting, screens or handcrafting is natural and is not considered a defect.
